This new article about the basic skincare routine for beginners to improve the quality of their skin before you add on any skin boosters like face essence, serum, ampoule etc. The most important thing, know your own skin type. Either Normal, Dry, Combination or Oily skin. Will explain later how to know your skin type in new article.

1.CLEANSE (OIL & WATER BASED)
Washing your face is the most basic and essential step of any routine. You’ll need a cleanser to wash off the dirt, makeup, excess oil, and environmental impurities that end up on your face naturally throughout the day. Just wash twice a day, morning and night, don’t cleanse more than twice a day no matter what type of skin you have because it will damage your skin barrier. The most important thing, please choose a cleanser with gentle and low pH balance because maintaining this balance is important for healthy skin. For Night routine, you can add on any oil-based cleanser as a double cleansing. Either cleansing balm or cleansing oil. Double cleansing is a method of cleansing your face twice. First, with an oil-based cleanser and again with a water-based cleanser. It can help remove stubborn, pore-clogging and acne-causing impurities that can remain on the skin even after washing your face once. Recommended only for once a day for night routine. 2. EXFOLIATE
Exfoliate is a process to removes dead skin cells from your skin’s outer layer and encourages new healthier skin cells. Exfoliation can leave your skin looking brighter and improve the effectiveness of topical skin care products by enhancing absorption. There are two types of exfoliators: physical and chemical.
Physical exfoliation : it involves physical components such as beads or grains, and a brush. For example, face scrub. Some scrubs can have incredibly large grains or beads which actually irritate the skin. So make sure you use a light and smaller grains or beads (SIORIS-my soft grain scrub)
Chemical Exfoliation : 2 types of chemical exfoliators. either AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and BHAs (Beta Hydroxy Acids). For beginner you can use with low percentage first (Pixi-glow tonic / byWishtrend-Mandelic acid). No need to cleanse your face when putting this chemical acids.

TONE (HYDRATING TONER)
Toner is used to complete the cleansing of the skin, effectively removing impurities that remain after washing your face, refresh, control oil and moisturize the face. Used after cleansing the face and before applying moisturizer. A toner will helps rebalance your skin’s pH. Highly recommended to use a hydrating toner. Why?? It can focus on extra hydration and moisturize your skin.
(By the way, Toner tak wajib ya. You can skip if you don’t want to apply a toner. But toner akan membantu other products more effective, for example face essence, serum etc.)

4. MOISTURIZE
The most basic function of a moisturizer is to hydrate and soften the skin. Essentially, moisturizer assist in preventing water loss through the outer layers of skin. Keep skin hydrated is an important step toward keeping it healthy.
How to pick a good moisturizer based on your skin type?
Oily / combination skin: Gel texture. This is a mostly water-based option that’s lightweight and absorb quickly.
Normal skin: Lotion texture. It feels more moisturizing than a gel but generally absorb well.
Dry Skin : Cream texture. It’s more oily-based and heavier than a lotion.

5. SPF PROTECTION
Sunscreen will protect your skin from premature wrinkles, fine lines, and sun spots. All three harm your appearance and make skin looks worse. Hyper-pigmentation marks left behind from acne also worsen and become darker with sun exposure. Apply by using 2 fingers rule (cream/milky texture) or 1/4 tsp method (watery texture) and need to reapply every 2-3 hours.
3 types of sunscreen: physical / chemical / hybrid sunscreen.
Physical sunscreen : sits on top of the skin and reflects the sun’s rays. The mineral titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are the main active ingredients.
Chemical sunscreen : absorbs into the skin and then absorbs UV rays, convert the rays into heat, and release them from the body. The active ingredients included avobenzone, octinoxate and oxybenzone.
Hybrid sunscreen : using both physical and chemical ingredients.
